Error Input file column headers do not match Application ID when using UB User Defined Field Import for Meters



Description of Issue

Users are trying to use the UB User Defined Field Import process for the Application ID of Meters, but are getting the error message of "Input file column headers do not match Application ID".

Cause

The reason behind the error message of "Input file column headers do not match Application ID" is because the import file is formatted incorrectly.



Resolution

Confirm header fields in import file are correct by going to Property Revenues > Utility Billing > Special Processing > Critical Processes > UB User Defined Field Import

  1. Click the Instructions button in the ribbon 

  2. Find the File Format for the Meter User Defined Field import

  3. Copy the Manufacturer Code, Meter Number, and User Defined Data wordage and enter them as each header for each field in the Excel sheet. Example: Column 1, Row 1 would be Manufacturer Code ,Column 2, Row 1 would be Meter Number, Column 3, Row 1 would be User Defined Data

    1. If using a different CSV editor like Notepad or Notepad++ the first line of the file would be in this format: Manufacturer Code, Meter Number, User Defined Data

  4. After entering the headers, either Save As or Save Copy and change the Save as type to CSV (Comma delimited).

  5. Go Back to the UB User Defined Field Import process and click Define

  6. Select Meters from the Application ID field

  7. Populate User defined field with the field number where the information should be imported

  8. Choose the CSV file to be imported. 

  9. Click Accept 

  10. Click Import
