Is the F5 Software VPN required for Enterprise ERP AWS hosted system

Description of Issue
Is the F5 Software VPN a VPN we would install on the device of the remote users to gain access to this system?
Context
  • AWS Hosting (only)
  • F5 VPN
  • SaaS
  • Secure Gateway
  • Enterprise ERP (Munis)
  • Remote
Cause

When connecting to cubes or SSRS there is a need for higher security due to ODBC or direct connection to the data. This in turn causes a need for the F5 VPN or allow the organizations external IP addresses

Resolution

Resolution 1: To access Cubes and SSRS reports, Tyler requires that your organization's external IP addresses be added to an allow list. Contact Tyler Support and provide the origination's external IP addresses and no F5 will be needed to run reports.

Resolution 2: Tyler requires the user to install the F5 Software VPN and have their external IP addresses be added to an allow list in order to access the SSRS Report Builder, modify reports, and connect to the database. (Note: The F5 software VPN is only needed if the individuals at your organization have not already established a connection to a VPN at the same location that you have provided to be allowed on Tyler’s network)
