OH PERS Retirement Report not adding total employer pickup

Description of Issue

We have two deductions defined as employer pickup and the report only Generates the amount for one

Context
  • Payroll

  • Ohio

  • OH PERS Retirement Report

Cause

Two employer paid deductions were defined as Employer Pickup, but they weren't both actually Employer Pickup contributions; One was the mandatory employer contribution.

An employee should only have one Employer Pickup deduction and the program won't accommodate more than that.

Resolution

Remove the mandatory employer contribution deduction from the Generate screen

Additional Information

OH PERS has two mandatory contribution amounts; EmployeE and EmployeR.  Current contribution rates are available online here: https://www.opers.org/employers/general/index.shtml

OPERS does not expect the mandatory employeR contribution amount to be included in the "Retirement Contribution" amount in the submission file.

When the employer pays for the mandatory employeE contribution amount on the employees behalf, they're "picking it up" for the employee.  That's Employer Pickup and OPERS does expect this employer paid employee contribution amount to be included in the "Retirement Contribution" amount in the submission file.Â
