Unable to add pay for employee in Time Entry program





Description of Issue

Trying to add a pay code to an employee in Time Entry, but getting an error message, Loc restrictions prevent you from adding or updating this employee.

Cause

There is a defect within program.

Prior to the fix being loaded, if the Payroll Control Setting for the Time Entry category and Location label was set to S, then the system was pulling the default location code from the Employee Job/Salary program



Resolution

Install the appropriate work ticket for your version once it has been released:

  • 2018.1.28 - Mun-394462 

  • 2108.3.15 - Mun-394463 

  • 2019.1.20 - Mun-386565 

If the MIU is unavailable, a temporary work around is to adjust the Payroll Control Setting from S to either H or E and start a new payroll. If a new payroll cannot be added, then you will need to add the pay code in Employee Job/Salary to be able to add the pay in the Time Entry Batch.

  1. Navigate to Payroll > Payroll Setup>Payroll Control Settings

  2. Search for the Category of Time Entry and Label of Location

  3. Click Accept

  4. Click Update

  5. Click the Field Help button

  6. Select either E or H

  7. Click Accept
