CRW journal entries not hitting deferred revenues

CRW journal entries not hitting deferred revenues

Description of Issue

CRW journal entries (posted writeoffs) are being posted to the general ledger without reducing the intended deferred revenue account.

Context
  • Journal Entry

  • Accounts Receivable Settings

Cause

Version 2019 introduced the option to select how over/short write-offs post, the intended option has not been selected.

Resolution
  1. Navigate to Accounts Receivable Settings.

    • Munis > General Revenues > Accounts Receivable > Setup > Accounts Receivable Settings

  2. Click on the Accounting Options tab.

  3. Click Update.

  4. Select checkbox next to the second option; For a positive balance bill, reduce the deferred revenue account instead of posting to the over/short account.

  5. Click Accept.
