Will Salary Changes done through Personnel Actions Impact Retro Payments

Description of Issue

Can you tell us if applying an salary increase via an Import or vs a Personnel Actions will cause retro issues?

Context
  • Employee Import

  • Personnel Actions

  • Employee Job/Salary

  • Retro Pay

  • Payroll Start and Status

  • Salary Tables

  • Payroll Control Settings

Cause

Resolution

Any salary change that is made, whether it's through Personnel Actions/Salary Changes/Imports/etc, will generate retro if they have the retro control setting enabled.

To view the Payroll Control Setting:

  1. Go to Payroll Control Settings (Human Capital Management > Payroll > Payroll Setup > Payroll Control Settings)

  2. Locate the setting for GENERAL - ENABLE RETRO PAY PROCESSING BY EFFECTIVE DATE.

    1. If set to Yes, this option will allow for retroactive pay records to be created when changes are made to employee pay records and these changes impact previously generated earnings.
