Cause
Resolution
The Apportioned Value field can be found on the ADDITIONAL VEHICLE tab of the Motor Vehicles Program. The value cannot be manually update, but is instead populated by the tax calculation program.
The logic for the system to populate the field is as follows:
- The class on the MV needs to be setup as an apportioned class
- The in-state mileage or out-of-state mileage needs to be populated
- Both fields can be found on the ADDITIONAL VEHICLE tab
- Total mileage needs to be greater than zero
- Total mileage is the sum of in-state plus out-of-state mileage
- The apportioned value is a prorated (or reduced) amount which is the MV assessment times the in-state mileage percent
- The in-state mileage percent is calculated by dividing the in-state mileage by the total mileage
