Using the W-2 Wizard

Cause

Resolution
  • Users can use the Wizard programs to process W-2s or 1099-Rs after installing the year end updates for the current year

  • Using the Wizard is optional. Users can create and process W-2s and 1099-Rs using the Wizard programs, and/or the individual programs that are listed under Human Capital Management > Payroll > W-2 and 1099-R Processing.  The programs are as follows:

    • Create W-2 and 1099-R Records

    • Employee W-2 and 1099-R

    • W-2 and 1099-R Register

    • Form Definitions

    • W-2 Forms Print

    • 1099-R Forms Print

    • Create Electronic File

    • Accumulator Gross Verify

  • Users can go back and forth between the Wizard and the individual programs regardless of which program was used to create the W-2s and 1099-Rs.  For instance:

    • If need to reprint a W-2 form, can use the W-2 Forms Print program even if the records were created in the Wizard

    • If need to review or update an employee's W-2 or 1099-R, can use the Employe W-2 and 1099-R program even if the records were created in the Wizard
