Query Wizard - Fields in various tabs greyed out when creating new query

Description of Issue
  • In various reporting or inquiry programs, the fields in the Assistant tabs when clicking Search and then clicking the Query button to open the Query Wizard are greyed out.

  • Clicking into a field with the correct field type on the Fields tab, and then going to that field type's corresponding Assistant tab, and then clicking the Format button does not make the fields accessible. Why is that?

Cause


Resolution
  • The Query Wizard part of each inquiry or reporting program is presented with the same tabs, but not all inquiry or reporting programs contain all of the field types that the tabs are designed for. On the Fields tab of the Query Wizard, each field has a Type assigned to it.

  • The Edit, Dropdown, and Date Assistant tabs correspond to the field types.

  • If a specific field type is not granted to one of the fields in the Fields tab, that field type's corresponding Assistant tab will be inaccessible since it does not apply to any of the available search fields in the program.
