Add a New Abatement Reason Code

A new abatement code needs to be added. 

• Abatement Entry (txabtent) 

• Exemption Codes (arexdmnt)

• Motor Vehicle Abatements

• Real Estate Abatements 

• Personal Property Abatements 

A new abatement code needs to be setup. 

1. Navigate to Exemption Codes either by searching or via the following path: Property Revenues > Property Tax Billing > Region > State > Assessor Setup > Exemption Codes

2. Click Add. 

3. Enter the desired Code. 

4. Enter the desired Description and Short description. 

5. Select Tax Billing from the Module Dropdown Menu.

6. Choose a Method (either Amount or Percent). 

7. Enter a set Amount or Percent if it is a fixed value. Leave at 0 if the amount or percent should be customizable. 

8. Set a Maximum amount for the code. 

9. Choose a Type (either Exemption or Abatement). 

10. Choose what the code Applies to (either Assessment or Principal Tax). 

11. For all other fields and more information regarding the choices above, please refer to the field descriptions which can be accessed by clicking the Question Mark Icon in the upper right hand corner and then clicking Help. 

12. When all necessary and desired fields are selected, click Accept.
