Reverse Employee Update for Payroll from Prior Year

  • I reversed the employee update for a payroll from 2021, no changes were made.

  • I need to reverse a payroll from December but we have processed a payroll in January.

Additional Information

The risk involved with reversing a prior payroll is the impact of the changes entered in the system since that payroll was completed. As well as the impact of the amounts processed in subsequent payrolls.

Things to consider:

  • Has the Accrual Year End been processed?

  • Will Year End/Quarterly reports need to be re-processed?

  • Will W-2Cs need to be created?

  • Will there be Deduction limit recalculations or changes?

  • Changes to the payroll tax tables?

  • Changes to the Vendor linked to the deductions?

  • Changes to the GL accounts linked to the payroll records?
