How to view the database columns overlay in Enterprise ERP

Cause

User needs to know database tables to build custom SSRS reports



Resolution

Granting permission to view Database detail:

  1. Navigate to EERP Menu > System Administration > Security > User Attributes

  2. Search for the User Id

  3. Review the roles assigned to this user under the Roles section to identify a role that grants access to System Administration

  4. Highlight the Role you want to edit - Please note editing a Role impacts all users assigned to that role.

  5. With the Role highlighted, click Edit Role button.

  6. Select the Munis System folder

  7. Select Update

  8. Uncheck the box for Restrict to Public Access use only

  9. Check the box for Allow to view database detail

Once user has permission, the database column overlay functionality is available in most Enterprise ERP Programs. The following procedure uses Employee Master program as an example, the same steps can be replicated to for other programs in EERP.

  1. Navigate to EERP Menu > Human Capital Management > Human Resources > Employee Job/Pay Classification > Employee Master

  2. Click on the Cog wheel Icon on the top right and select option View Database Columns

  3. The current page will refresh to show the database schema name, table name and the column name from where the information in a field is fetched from.

This database information can be used to locate an appropriate TRS view by searching the Munis Data Dictionary.
