Unposted Adjustments Exist error in a tax program

Description of Issue

An error is thrown when processing in a program that creates adjustments on bills.

Unposted adjustments exist for bills being selected. Adjustments must be bill posted before continuing.



Context

  • Munis 2019.1 and up

  • Accounts Receivable

  • AR

  • Tax Billing (All states)

  • TaxAdjustmentHelper



Cause

In Munis 2019.1 and up, only one unposted adjustment can exist on a bill at a time.



Resolution

As a standard practice, post all adjustments (including abatements, write-offs, corrections, etc) as soon as they are created.

Find all of the unposted adjustments for the set of bills that you are currently processing and post them. Possible programs that may need to be checked include:

  • Bill Adjustments

  • Bill Detail Adjustments

  • Abatement Entry

  • Tax Corrections

  • Over-short Adjustment Process
