Cashiering unable to close due to Batch Beginning Cash Amount

Description of Issue

An error occurs stating An error occurred while trying to update the batch beginning cash. 

Context

Cause

When attempting to balance the cash balances while preparing to close a batch, the batch will not close due to an incorrect amount with the opening cash totals.

Resolution

The beginning cash amount can be adjusted 2 ways.

  • On the cash balance screen, the Beginning Cash field can be adjusted to the intended amount. Save.

  • Locate the batch and use the Modify function. The Beginning Cash amount field can be adjusted here. Save.
