Batch scanning via File Import for Content Manager

How do I set up the file import option for Batch Scanning from the CM Full Client?

Cause


Resolution

To set up a batch scan folder:

  1. Open File Explorer on your workstation
  2. Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:)
    1. Based on your workplace policies, either create a new folder here or continue to Users > your name
  3. Right-click inside the file explorer folder and select New > Folder
  4. Name this folder Batchscan
  5. This is where you should scan/save your batch files to

To integrate this folder with CM Batch Scanning:

  1. Launch the CM Full Client
    1. How to Access and Launch the TCM Full Client
  2. Navigate to Documents > Batch Scanning
  3. Click Settings > Scanner Options
  4. Under the Provider dropdown, select File Import
    1. This will allow a Source box to appear under Provider
  5. Click the ... ellipsis menu next to the Source dropdown
    1. A new menu will pop up for a file path to be selected
  6. Click the Add Entry button towards the top
  7. Locate the Batchscan folder that was created in the steps above and click Open
  8. Make sure that new file path is highlighted and click OK
    1. This will close out the additional menus and leave you at Scanner Setup
  9. Verify the scanner settings are accurate Recommended TCM Full Client batch scan settings
  10. Click OK
