Can multiple Exemptions or Abatements be entered in the same batch
Description of Issue
Would like to know if multiple Exemptions or Abatements can be entered in the same batch in Abatement Entry.Â
Context
- Property Tax Billing
- Abatement Entry (txabtent)
Cause
Multiple Exemptions or Abatements need to be entered.Â
Resolution
- Yes, multiple Exemptions and Abatements can be entered in the same batch in Abatement Entry as long as none of the Exemptions or Abatements are for the same bill.Â
- Please see the following article for guidance on entering multiple Exemption(s)/Abatement(s) in the same batch: Enter an Abatement in a Batch in Abatement Entry
- Only one unposted adjustment can exist for a bill at a time. This is to ensure the accuracy of subsequent adjustments. Exemptions and Abatements are considered adjustments. If multiple Exemptions or Abatements need to be entered for the same bill, then the Exemption(s)/Abatement(s) need to at least be bill posted (if not GL posted) before a new Exemption or Abatement is entered for the same bill.Â
- To Bill Post Exemption(s)/Abatement(s) please see: Bill Post an Abatement
- To GL Post Exemption(s)/Abatement(s) please see: GL Post an Abatement Batch
