Resolution
The Hired date field is not configurable and can only be updated when the employee begins employment with your organization, or is returning to employment with your organization after a termination. Otherwise, you will negatively impact reporting that's required at a state and federal level. If you did not collect a (new) W-4 for the employee, do not enter a new date in the Hired date field.
Tyler recommends using the Position Start/End Dates in Employee Job/Salary to track role changes, but Using Employee Master Other Dates to track Position or Job changes is another option.Â
