Description of Issue

How is the Line Description field populated when using the Standard Excel Template for Import Journals?



Context

Cause




Resolution

The Comment column populates the Line Description field on Standard Excel Import Journals and must be formatted correctly or it will not populate when importing.

On the Import File:

  1. Check the Cell Format for the Comment column to make sure it is in TEXT format, not General.

  2. Save the correctly formatted file and retry the import.

  3. The imported journal should now show the Comment column value in the Line Description on the entry.
