Unable to change secondary balancing level field in Chart of Account Segments - Fund must be deleted first

• User set up fund without secondary balancing level defined

• Field can no longer be modified after adding fund

• No accounts or transactions are tied to newly created fund

• The secondary balancing level in General Ledger settings is set to Defined By Fund

• User is expecting to be able to define the secondary balancing level field

Chart of Account Segments

• Secondary balancing cannot be modified and changed to another Segment once the Fund has been created

• Secondary balancing can however be updated to NONE after the Fund has been created

• If the segment defined needs to be updated to another segments, the Fund must be deleted and re-created with the correct information

Since there are no accounts created for the new fund, delete the fund record from Chart of Account Segments and then re-add it using the correct secondary balancing level:

• Search for the newly created fund

• Click Delete in the ribbon, and then click Yes, Delete in the popup box

Now, use the Add function to recreate the Fund with secondary balancing segment
