What happens to unposted transactions when the month is closed through Month End Manager

Can unposted transactions exist when closing the month in month End Manager?

Resolution

The list below indicates how all columns are affected when closing a month from Month End Manager.

  • Closing Date
    • Updated to the current calendar date when Close or Close and Roll Forward is processed
  • 'Unposted Journals
    • No changes to this column when Close or Close and Roll Forward is processed
  • Open Journals
    • Column is reset to zero which reflects as a blank column. Moving forward any journals posted since the last Closing Date will be visible from the column's hyperlink.
    • Closing the month again resets this field based on the new Closing Date
  • Unbalanced Journals
    • Column is reset to zero which reflects as a blank column. Moving forward any Unbalanced Journals that have been posted since the last Closing Date will be visible from the column's hyperlink
    • Closing the month again resets this field based on the new Closing Date
  • Fund Control Discrepancies
    • No changes to this column when Close or Close and Roll Forward is processed
  • Unbalanced Funds
    • No changes to this column when Close or Close and Roll Forward is processed
