Unable to Approve Timecard of New Employee

Description of Issue

A new employee's timecard cannot be approved, there is no error displaying and when the page refreshes, the employee and approver initials are showing within the summary approval box but the individual entries are still showing a red unapproved icon.

Cause

The employee's master file profile was created in the current period however the employee has time in the previous period so their profile needs to be saved for history to the start of that previous period in order for ExecuTime to properly view the timecard.

Resolution

To save the Employee's profile for history:

  • Select System Admin
  • Select Master File Management
  • Select the clock (middle icon) next to the employees name to edit their history
  • Scroll to the bottom and select the radio button for 'Save for whole history and override subsequent changes, starting at'
  • Use the drop down to select the start of the previous pay period
  • Select Save for Specified Past Pay Period
