Can we make updates to the SOY balance in Employee Accruals?

Munis does allow for the SOY Balance field to be updated in Employee Accruals, however we do not recommend any manual edits are made to this field after the initial add of the Employee Accrual record because it is known to cause issues with accrual processing.

• When updating the SOY Balance, this can cause the current Available Balance to not match the Running Balance on the most recent Accrual History record.

• This causes further issues with displaying the wrong balance for the accrual in ESS and displaying the wrong balance on payroll checks and advices.

• This field is updated as a part of the Accrual Year End function.

• When adding a new Employee Accrual record, at the time of the add, you may key in a desired SOY balance.
