GL Account restrictions exist when saving VA State Income Tax Year Settings

Description of Issue

Encounter an error message when attempting to save change made to a state income tax year settings record.

Error Message: General Ledger Account restrictions exist

Cause

The user attempting to save the record does not have access to the GL accounts defined for the State Income Tax or Estimated Tax accounts

Resolution
  1. Navigate to System Administration > Security > User Attributes
  2. Search for the UserID 
  3. Select the desired role associated with the user to update
  4. Select Edit Role from the bottom of the screen to launch the Role Maintenance screen
  5. Select the General Ledger folder found in the middle of the left-hand Financials column
  6. The Account/segment group access drop down is what controls GL access.
    • If the permission is set to None, it will need to be updated to Limited or Full
    • If the permission is set to Limited, click the yellow folder
      • Added the required record for the Account Segment Type as well as the From and To range
  7. Click Accept to save the changes
