Changing location codes to a new value

Description of Issue
  • Can you change location codes to a new code?
Context
  • Munis
  • Human Capital Management (HCM)
  • Location Codes
Cause
  • Client would like to identify a location under a new code value
Resolution
  1. Navigate to the program Location Codes
    • Menu > Human Capital Management Payroll > Payroll Setup > Location Codes
  2. Search on the desired location code
    1. Munis will not allow you to update the actual location code value, however you can update the fields Short Description and Long Description of a location code
  3. Click Update and enter a new Short Description and Long Description value, click Accept to save the updates


  • If a new location code value is needed a new location code will need to be created
    1. Click Add and define the new code value, short description, and long description
Additional Information
  • Please consider that Location Code is used heavily within the system for things such as roles & permissions, workflow, and setup in various Human Resources and Payroll Module programs
    • You will want to audit your site's usage of the HR/Payroll Module to determine which programs will need to be accounted for with the new Location Code
