Unable to writeoff unpaid balance on MD tax bills





Description of Issue

I need to remove a balance from a bill and the over/short adjustment process won't select the bill

I need to forgive held interest and the Forgive Interest process won't select the bill



Context

Cause

The unpaid balance is caused by held interest on the bill which is not removed through the over/short adjustment process



Resolution
  1. Navigate to Property RevenuesProperty Tax BillingSouthMarylandCollection Processing/ReportsForgive Interest

  2. Click Define and fill out the fields to select the desired bill(s)

  3. Check the box for Only forgive held interest

  4. Click Accept

  5. Select records

  6. Output-Post the records to remove the interest from the bill(s)
