How to create email subscription for a custom SSRS report for SaaS clients

User wants to receive results of custom SSRS report periodically through email.

User needs instructions on creating SSRS subscriptions

1. Follow the instructions to create a generic reporting account

   • Generic reporting account for SSRS Subscriptions

2. Verify that SMTP is set up for SSRS. If you are unsure if it is, please contact TSM. 

With SMTP configured and a generic reporting account created, please see steps below to create an email subscription:

1. Create a datasource with saved credentials using instructions in this article:  

   • Configure datasource for SSRS subscription

2. Update the report to use this new subscription datasource: 

   • Repoint SSRS report to other datasource

3. Hover mouse on the report and click on the dropdown or 3 dots on the right of report's name and select Manage

4. Click on Subscriptions in the left navigation menu and click on + New subscription

5. After picking a name for the subscription, select the option Standard subscription

6.  Click on Edit Schedule hyperlink to configure schedule for this report. 

7. Pick the option Email from destination dropdown.

8. After typing the recipient email address, select the appropriate format from the Render Format dropdown.

9. Click Create Subscription button to create this subscription.
