How to change period of a posted GEN journal

Journal was posted to the wrong period and needs to be fixed. 

• Journal Reversal (GRV)

• Change Period

Journal period is incorrect and needs to be changed to a different period. 

The Change Period function in journal reversal can be used to correct the period. A reversal and correction journal will be posted in addition to the original journal, effectively changing the period.

1. Search, enter original journal year, period, and journal number

2. Accept

3. Change Period

4. Enter Reversal Journal information

   • Use the same year, period and effective date as original journal

5. Enter journal information under Modified Journal

   • Use the needed year, period and effective date

6. Accept

7. Output Post

8. Yes to Post journal
