How to merge accounts



Description of Issue

We need to merge 2 accounts, how to accomplish this?



Context

General Ledger

Merge Accounts



Cause

Transaction history needs to be combined for two accounts within the same fund

Two accounts within the same fund were created where only one should have been



Resolution

All users should be out of MUNIS when this is performed and a back up should be done before continuing.

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Set Up Chart of Accounts > Account Merge

  1. Click Define

  2. Type in the Original Account number

    1. This account will be removed after the merge

  3. Type in the Target Account number

    1. This account will remain after the merge and will receive the historical data from the Original Account

  4. Click Accept

  5. Click Process Merge
