Description of Issue
  • Received error in Open New Fiscal Year program when output posting: 
    • (glopenyr) Unable to get parent journal id: 100
  • System Log shows: Execute 1592
  • Open Current Year Report has no encumbrance entries created. 
  • Site does not have encumbrances and/or does not own the Contracts module.
  • glopenyr report may generate 2 reports:

1. Single page : Titled NEXT YEAR CONTRACT ENCUMBRANCES, No journals to post besides rollover SOY journals. JOURNAL : 0000 00
2. Generated moments after the 1st report. 1st page identical to the first report, remaining pages appear to be correct SOY Journals.

Cause

Open Current Year process is looking for encumbrance amounts to create journals, but there are no encumbrances in the system. 

Resolution
  • MUN-414525 is open with Development to remove the invalid error occurring during Open Current Year processing when there are no encumbrance journals created.
    • This ticket would apply if  journal number control has been set up for the fiscal year being opened (NY2 if Contract module is used) and the Open Current Year Report does not indicate and encumbrance journals would be created.
  • If Journal Number Control records are set up, this is a soft error and will not prevent the process from completing.
  • If Journal Number Control records needed to be set up, after the records are created you will need to rerun the Open New Fiscal Year process and try to output/post.
  • This error does not typically require a system restore.
