Admin Center - Allow Tyler Support Access

Information about the Allow Tyler support access toggle in Admin Center.

Cause
Allow Tyler support access toggle needs to be enabled or disabled in Admin Center.
Resolution
- Login to your Admin Center site as an Org Admin.
- https://<clientIdentifier>-admin.tylerportico.com/org/admin-center/dashboard
- Navigate to Dashboard from the left navigation bar.
- Enable or Disable the Support Access toggle at the top of the screen.
- An admin at the site MUST be the one to toggle this
- Tyler staff do not have permissions to change this setting
Additional Information
Only client Org Admins can change the grant access switch
- Only a client Org Admin can change the grant access switch to enabled or disabled. This means that if no Tyler employees are Org Admins in an Admin Center, and the grant access switch is disabled, a client Org Admin must enable grant access for Tyler employees to use an external application to grant themselves access to that Admin Center.
The toggle also enables authentication for the tylersupport# accounts that have been seeded into participating applications. Authorization must still be granted to the accounts on the application level.
When enabled
- When the grant access switch is enabled, a Tyler employee can use an external support application to grant themselves or other Tyler employees access to your Admin Center to perform support functions
When disabled
- When the grant access switch is disabled, Tyler employees cannot use an external support application to grant themselves or other Tyler employees access to your Admin Center
- Any Tyler employee that had existing access to your Admin Center will continue to have access to it, including the ability to grant people access to your Admin Center
- In addition, non-Tyler Org Admins can always grant a Tyler employee access to the Admin Center regardless of the grant access switch setting
- Ex: A client user who is an Org Admin can grant a Tyler employee access to that Admin Center
- They will continue to be able to use the Admin Center until they are deactivated or deleted out of the Users section
