Installing APG USB Cash Drawer for Cashiering

Description of Issue

How to install and set up APG USB cash drawer to be used with Cashiering.

The USB cash drawer uses a USB cable with type A and type B ends, and is connected directly to the workstation, not to the printer.

APG USB Cash Drawer

  1. Connect cash drawer to workstation
  2. Download APG OPOS QFUSB ADK v1211 found here: https://cashdrawer.sharefile.com/share/view/s8292426c31344c3a/focf53b8-8e2a-4dfb-af82-848d508fe786
  3. Unzip folder APG OPOS QFUSB ADK v1211.zip
  4. Navigate to APG OPOS QFUSB ADK v1211\APG OPOS QFUSB ADK v1211\install files\
  5. Double click setup.exe
  6. Click Next and select defaults for install
  7. After installation, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\APG Cash Drawer\OPOS and run APGOPOSQFUSBUtility.exe
  8. Click Open Device then click Open Drawer to verify hardware is connected and drawer opens
  9. Slowly click the APG OPOS LDN text box twice
  10. Rename the LDN to Multi_AU 
  11. Retest the drawer: Open Device, Open Drawer
    1. If you cannot open the device in the utility, try running the setup again and repairing the install. 
  12. Close when done

Hardware Console

  1. If the Cashiering Hardware Console is already running, close and restart the Hardware Console: How to Restart Cashiering Hardware Console
  2. Open Hardware Console from system tray or from Cashiering 9-box menu
  3. Click the pencil and add the cash drawer 
    1. Cash Drawer: Cash Drawer (USB)
    2. Controller: Standalone (USB)
  4. Click Save
  5. Click Re-initialize
  6. Exit the Hardware Console (do not exit the service from the system tray)
  7. Reinitialize the Hardware Console from system tray
  8. Refresh the Cashiering page
  9. Test cash drawer operation with drawer-open button in top left corner
    1. Note: Settings/user permissions could restrict the drawer-open button from appearing
