Journal lines shift around when entering lines in journal entry programs

Description of Issue

When entering journal lines in the General Journal Entry/Proof program, lines shift out of place when tabbing down to the next line.

Cause




Resolution

  1. Right-Click on one of the journal line column headers

  2. Click Reset Settings and Reset Column Sort

  3. Close out of the General Journal Entry/Proof program (or other Journal entry program Budget transfers and Amendments, Encumbrance Journal Entry, etc.)

  4. Reopen the program, and then continue to enter lines to ensure that this issue no longer occurs.



Additional Information

This issue occurs when the column sort becomes misaligned, and columns have to be reset in order to correct the issue.
