Description of Issue

I got an error trying to submit my Federal W-2 electronic file. 

Error:

Medicare not equal to/greater than sum of SS Wages and Tips

Context

Cause

An employee(s) Medicare gross does not match the FICA gross wages.

Resolution

This error is not regarding the electronic file itself, but how an employee(s) have been taxed. It's recommended to contact the IRS to see how this should be handled in order to submit the file.
