Description of Issue

How do I setup Gmail to send email from Munis?

Context
  • Email
  • Gmail
  • Google Workspace
  • Munis
  • Munis Self Service
  • SMTP


Cause

Munis and Munis Self Service will need to be configured with the to send email using Gmail

Resolution
  • SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com or smtp-relay.gmail.com
  • Port: 587
  • TLS/SSL: Checked
  • Username and Passworda real email address (not distribution group) that can send email
    • Username and password can be bypassed if using smtp-relay.gmail.com and the below IPs are added as safe static IPs in Google Workspace
      • Datacenter clients: 208.64.237.255 and 208.64.238.25
      • AWS hosted clients should allow IP 23.23.246.226 and configure their SMTP connector to allow relaying from this address
  • *Allow Less Secure Apps needs to be turned on in the GSuite Admin Console.
