Using Gmail for Munis Email
Description of Issue
How do I setup Gmail to send email from Munis?
Context
- Gmail
- Google Workspace
- Munis
- Munis Self Service
- SMTP
Cause
Munis and Munis Self Service will need to be configured with the to send email using Gmail
Resolution
- SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com or smtp-relay.gmail.com
- Port: 587
- TLS/SSL: Checked
- Username and Password: a real email address (not distribution group) that can send email
- Username and password can be bypassed if using smtp-relay.gmail.com and the below IPs are added as safe static IPs in Google Workspace
- Datacenter clients: 208.64.237.255 and 208.64.238.25
- AWS hosted clients should allow IP 23.23.246.226 and configure their SMTP connector to allow relaying from this address

*Allow Less Secure Apps needs to be turned on in the GSuite Admin Console.
