SaasMail to Amazon SES for Enterprise ERP

Description of Issue

We have been notified by Tyler that we need to have the SMTP configuration in our ERP products reconfigured as SaasMail is being deprecated. We'd like to utilize your new replacement hosted offering and reconfigure with our own subdomain."

Context
  • SMTP

  • EERP

  • MSS

  • ESR

  • TRS

  • TPAR

  • Cashiering

  • SaasMail

  • Amazon SES

Cause

In order to best serve our clients and conform to new email authentication requirements set forth by providers such as Gmail and Microsoft 365, Tyler is deprecating its SaasMail service and adopting Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) by AWS as the preferred email solution for our cloud-hosted Enterprise ERP solutions. Amazon SES is a cloud-based email service provider that allows Tyler to deliver high-volume email campaigns within our cloud-hosted [Enterprise Permitting & Licensing/Enterprise ERP] solutions.

Please note that this is strictly a change in email service and does not reduce the level of SaaS services we provide to you pursuant to our agreement together. Using Amazon SES will not incur additional fees, as it is included in your annual subscription.

This change in email service does not require changes to your current version of any Tyler applications or authentication methods.

Amazon SES Setup Considerations

While it is not essential, we recommend that you create a subdomain for your email notifications. For example: erp.youragency.gov. This helps your organization readily identify the purpose of the domain and segment the traffic.

  • Tyler will manage your account and all other DNS records needed

  • Email will come from your branded subdomain (for example: noreply@erp.youragency.gov)

  • You will choose the mailbox name (before the @), and the display name for the mailbox

  • You will create one DNS name server (NS) record in your domain
