How to Register A New TouchTime Clock

Description of Issue

How to register a new TouchTime device.

Cause

New clock acquired by client

Resolution
  1. If the Time and Attendance version is v2020.3 or below, proceed with the next step, if above v2020.4, proceed to step 6.
  2. On the clock, enter the Web Service URL when the registration message is prompted on screen
    1. The Web Service URL can be found in the Time and Attendance Application at System Admin > UI Environment Flags > Timeclock Configuration > Web Service URL
  3. Select the Register button on the clock
  4. Proceed to step 8.
  5. Note: The following step, step 6, is only for Time and Attendance Application versions v2020.4 and above.
  6. On the clock, enter the server hostname or IP address and port number when the registration message is prompted on screen. 
    1. The server hostname or IP address can be found in the Time and Attendance Application at System Admin > UI Environment Flags > Timeclock Configuration > Time and Attendance server hostname or IP address
    2. If an IP address is in this field, then the port to use is the HTTP port
    3. System Admin > UI Environment Flags > Timeclock Configuration > Timeclock Configuration HTTP
    4. If a hostname is in this field, the HTTPS port or the HTTP port can be used
    5. System Admin > UI Environment Flags > Timeclock Configuration > Timeclock Configuration HTTPS
    6. Note: If using HTTP, on the Timeclock Configuration screen, check the box for Use HTTP protocol for TouchTime timeclocks and select Save
      1. On the registration screen of the clock, enter http:// along with either the hostname or IP address when registering the clock.
      2. Example: http://serverhostname OR http://IPADDRESS 
  7. Select the Register button on the clock
  8. Once the Registration Complete screen is displayed, give the clock around 5 minutes to receive it's tasks from the system
  9. In the ExecuTime Application, Navigate to System Admin > Timeclock Management > Unauthorized
  10. On the new profile in this area, select the Authorize (Cloud) icon
  11. Select Yes on the prompt
  12. For the device's profile, enter in the information below
    1. Name - Shorthand reference for the device
    2. Description -Standard reference for the device. Common uses are Physical Location, NAT'd IP Address, and/or Department
    3. Server Connect Interval- 5
    4. Server Time Sync Interval- 12
    5. Time Zone- Select system time zone
    6. Synchronize Biometrics- Enable if all existing biometrics need to be shared with this device
  13. Select Authorize
  14. Wait around 5 minutes and the Registration Complete prompt should go away. The device may reboot a few times due to new files

Once steps are completed, clock should be authorized and usable with ExecuTime.
