TX TRS RP20 RE TRS-Care Contribution incorrect

Description of Issue

The TX TRS RP20 RE TRS-Care Contribution amount for employees being paid through federal funds is incorrect

Context
  • Payroll
  • State Reporting
  • Texas
  • TX TRS Report
Cause

This is caused by having a deduction incorrectly defined as TRS Care on the generate screen. Federally funded TRS Care deductions should not be defined on the generate screen at all because the corresponding Fed Care fields are calculated on the RP20 record based on the amount of federal funds the employee received in the reporting period and the Federal TRS-Care rate defined on the Contribution Rates tab in the TX TRS Report generate screen.

Resolution
  1. Navigate to Human Capital Management > Payroll > State Specific > South > Texas > TX TRS Report > Generate
  2.  Review the Deductions tab for the Shared Report Definition that is currently being used the generate the RP20 records
  3. Note the deductions defined as TRS Care. The employer contribution rate for these deductions are used to calculate the RE TRS-Care Contribution based on the Eligible TRS Compensation
  4. Navigate to Human Capital Management > Payroll > Payroll Setup > Deduction and Benefit Master
  5. Click Search and pull up the TRS-Care deductions
  6. Identify the federally funded deduction
  7. Navigate back to Human Capital Management > Payroll > State Specific > South > Texas > TX TRS Report > Generate
  8. Select Update and remove the federally funded deduction
  9. Click Accept

Once this deduction has been removed from the generate screen define and regenerate the period records for the reporting period. Review the period records and confirm that the RE TRS-Care Contribution amounts are correct.
