TX TRS Maintenance - Start of Year Processes

  • How do we go about identifying employees who were hired mid-year last year and updating their statutory min contact days/months correctly?

Cause

When a new contract year starts, Stat Min details need to be updated to reflect the new year and date information needs to be updated for full time retirees. 

Resolution

There are 3 process on the Menu ribbon of the TX TRS Maintenance program that need to be evaluated before the first TRS report is Generated for a new contract year: 

  • Refresh Contract will update Stat Min Contract Days and Months, State Pay Group/BU, State Pay Grade and FTE for all employees in the active Find set, unless the employee is a Retiree.  This data only needs to be updated for Stat Min employees.
  • Refresh FT Retirees will update the Employment Start and End Dates to reflect current Calendar Start and End dates for all Retirees where Employment Type = Full Time.
  • Increase Step will increment the State Pay Step by 1 for all employees in the Active find set.  This data only needs to be updated for Stat Min employees, as applicable.
