Recreating or regenerating employee W-2 records

Recreating or regenerating employee W-2 records

Description of Issue

Will Munis allow me to generate W-2 records more than once?

Context
  • Munis
  • Payroll
  • W-2 Wizard
  • W-2 and 1099-R Processing
  • Create W-2 and 1099-R Records
Cause

Resolution
  • Munis will allow the user to generate W-2s an infinite number of times.
  • When generating W-2s, this does delete all existing W-2 records for the year and replaces them with the new generated records, so if any manual adjustments were made to any W-2 records, the adjustments will be lost and will need to be redone.

Within the Wizard:

  1. Go back to the Create step.
  2. Click Create W-2 Records.
  3. Record Replacement prompt will display asking, W-2 Records exist for 20XX, do you with so replace these records? Click Yes

Within the Create W-2 and 1099-R program:

  1. Go to Create W-2 and 1099-R Records (Payroll>W-2 and 1099-R Processing>CreateW-2 and 1099-R Records)
  2. Click Define. Enter the year. Click Accept
  3. Click Define. All fields should be saved from the original create, but verify the define looks correct. Click Accept
  4. Record Replacement prompt will display asking, W-2 Records exist for 20XX, do you with so replace these records? Click Yes
