CY Monthly Balance Does Not Sum to Account - General Ledger Table Validation

Table Validation has error CY Monthly Balance Does Not Sum to Account for specific GL accounts

• This test examines the monthly balances of the accounts to ensure that the Current Year Actual amount matches the sum of all individual period actual amounts
• Usually this error is caused by a manual update, this can be determined by running the account audit for the account

1. Browse to Financials > General Ledger Menu > Inquiry & Reports > Account Inquiry
2. Select Yellow folder for current year's actual memo 
3. Excel
4. Summary
5. Select All for Export Filter
6. Accept
7. Obtain Excel file from browser tab, or it was saved in user's workstation download directory
   • Add filter and sort by period and hide unposted transactions
   • Now compare to monthly amount sum totals for each period

9. Months
   • Compare CY Actual column period sum totals and ensure they match posted transactions to period from Excel output
     • If amounts for one or more periods are incorrect contact Financial General Ledger Support or log an Online Support Client Portal with attached Table Validation and utility output examples and categorize as General Ledger
     • If amounts are correct and match move to next step and see if utility sees issues for accounts in question
10. Run the select for General Ledger Memo Balance utility and review output in display or PDF to verify that account(s) are identified but DO NOT PROCESS updates
    • Feel free to process updates in secondary Train or Test database if it has same issue as Live
11. Run Table Validation again to see if errors are resolved, if errors remain or now say Fund Does Not Net to Zero move to next step
12. Contact Financial General Ledger Support or log an Online Support Client Portal with attached Table Validation and utility output examples and categorize as General Ledger
