Exporting and Importing Printer Definitions in Munis

Description of Issue

How do I copy printer definitions to a non-production environment?

Context
  • Munis
  • SaaS
Cause

The client needs their printer definitions exported before a refresh and then imported after the refresh is completed

Resolution
  1. Find the Application Server for the appropriate environment.
    1. Listed on the SaaS Client information page
    2. Found on the Site Report
    3. Can be found using the Accio tool
  2. Connect to the Application Server using Remote Desktop Manager.
  3. Open File Explorer and navigate to E:\Temp\mu#### (replace #### with their site number).
    1. If this folder doesn't already exist create it now.
  4. Open their Munis Environment
    1. Using the SSO client or Dashboard links
  5. Navigate to System Update
    1. System Administration>Miscellaneous Administration>System Update
  6. Click Define Update Options, enter spsequel, and click Run System Update.
    1. If you are using a web browser to access this environment make sure popups are enabled.
  7. In spsequel, click Define in the top right of the screen.
  8. In the field labeled: Location of Source/Target Directory enter E:\Temp\mu#### (replacing #### with their site number)
  9. In the field labeled: 1. Name of table to unload, enter spprintr
  10. Click Accept
  11. Click Unload_Table(s)

The tables should be unloaded in a spprintr.unx file in the specified directory.
Now complete the refresh if needed.

To load the tables back in:

  1. Repeat steps 1-9 as described above.
  2. In the field labeled: Delete all data prior to load? Enter Y
  3. Click Accept
  4. Click Load_Table(s)
Additional Information

Unlike newer versions of Munis, Munis 11.3 does not have buttons to export and import printer definitions.
