Description of Issue

Tying to put in custom dates for the pay periods and receiving the error "The last date for the year (2019) must be the same as the next year's (2020) begining." when trying to enter in the 2020 start date

Cause

Entry of the specific dates was not properly done.



Resolution

Make sure to enter the Specific Dates Pay Periods (System Admin > Master File Management > Pay Periods > Edit appropriate pay period) using the following rules:

  • Start Date in the header needs to be the start of the new year

  • Start Date in the specific dates needs to be the same as the End Date from the previous year (or line if entering a second line)

  • Save after each new line is entered
