Hourly Employee Is Now Salaried





Description of Issue

An hourly employee was moved to a salaried employee in the middle of the pay period and they have both regular hours and salaried fabricated hours on their timecard. How can I make them just salaried?

Cause

The employee is going to show both manually entered hours as well as fabricated entries since they were switched in the middle of the pay period.



Resolution

How to save the employee for history so that they can be a salaried employee from the start of the pay period.

  1. Navigate to Supervisor Actions → Employee Time Maintenance

  2.  Click the delete button (minus) to remove the manually added regular hours on the employee's timecard

  3. Once finished, navigate to System Admin

  4. Master File Management → Employees Tab

  5. Click the stopwatch icon for the employee in question

  6. Click on the Pay Properties Tab

  7. Click the drop-down for Employee Type

  8. Switch to the salary type

  9. Click on General Info

  10. Make sure that the top radio button is listed as the start of the pay period -now option → If not, select the start date of the pay period -now → page will reload

  11. Select the bottom radio button and select the drop-down for the start of the pay period you wish to save them to be a salary user

  12. Click Save for Specified Past Pay Period
