Resolution

There are settings in CSS to limit search results to a specific bill year range. To manage these settings. you must be logged into CSS with administrator rights.

  1. Navigate to Administration / Citizen Administration
  2. For Real Estate, navigate to the Real Estate page or for Personal Property, navigate to the Personal Property page
  3. Set the Bill year search default field to either your Collection year or Current year. This is referring to your Current Collection year and Current Assessment year in the Tax Settings program.
  4. Set the Current or Collection year minus field to the number of years you'd like to become viewable in CSS that are prior to the Bill year search default. For example, if you are only looking to show the last X number of billing years online.
  5. Set the Current or collection year plus field to the number of years you'd like to become viewable in CSS that are after the Bill year search default. For example, if you've created bills for the upcoming billing year but are looking to hide those bills from the public until the start date of your calendar/fiscal year. To hide future bills properly, use Collection year as your Bill year search default in CSS, with a value of 0 entered in this field. As long as your Current Collection Year within the Tax Settings program is prior to the bill year you're looking to hide, they will remain hidden online until the Tax Setting's Current Collection year is incremented to match the year of those bills.

Real Estate has an additional setting where you can Exclude specific years of Real Estate bills in CSS
