How to Remove a Duplicate Employee





Description of Issue
  • A duplicate employee was created.

  • Is there a way to merge the two employee numbers?



Context
  • Munis

  • Human Capital Management (HCM)

  • Employee Master



Cause

A duplicate Employee Master record was found



Resolution
  • There is no way to merge the Employee numbers. 

  • If one of the employee numbers has no history it can be deleted.

  • If both employee numbers have history, then set one of the Employee Master records to Inactive.



Additional Information

When create W-2s at the end of the year, select the option to Combine Employee Numbers by SSN.  This will find both employee numbers with the same social security number and combine on one W-2 form.
