Can inventory items with transaction history be deleted?

Cause




Resolution

Items with transaction history cannot be deleted.  Items can be marked as obsolete though:

  1. If the item has quantity on hand (QOH), process an Adjustment transaction to reduce the QOH to zero

  2. Use the Obsolete Items program (Financials > Purchasing > Setup > Obsolete Items) to mark the item as obsolete, which will prevent it from being used or viewed anywhere except in the Obsolete Items program
