How to Restrict Access to Content Manager During an Upgrade

Description of Issue

We will be upgrading Tyler Content Manager and we would like to restrict users from accessing the TCM Viewer, archiving to TCM via ReadyForms, and adding attachments via EERP while we upgrade TCM. We want to restrict users from attaching/viewing documents in the Enterprise ERP TCM viewer, but we want users to have the ability to access other Enterprise ERP programs while we are upgrading TCM.

Resolution
  1. Notify the users of the upcoming downtime using these steps: Create a HUB Announcement or Notification banner message
  2. Stop the Apache service of the environment that will be upgraded.
    1. Sign on to the TCM server with an administrative account- typically Tylerservice or equivalent
    2. Open Services
    3. Navigate to the appropriate Apache Tomcat instance> right click> Stop
  3. Run the TCM upgrade Upgrade Tyler Content Manager using Tyler Deploy

Note: For TCM production upgrades, it is highly encouraged to run after hours because the reindex process may take multiple hours to complete, depending on how large the TCM database is. The reindex process starts once the upgrade has completed.
