SSRS ReportServer URL 503 Error

Description of Issue

When browsing to the SSRS Reports or ReportServer URL, you get: Service Unavailable. HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.

Context
  • SSRS

  • SQL Server Reporting Services

  • Report Server

Cause

SQL Server Reporting Services service unable to connect

Resolution
  1. Connect to the SQL Database server with tylerservice or equivalent

  2. Open Services

  3. Check if SQL Server Reporting Services is running

    1. If it is not, right click > Start

  4. If it is running, right click > Restart

  5. Test URL

  6. If the error persists, check logs in one of these locations: 

    1. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services\SSRS\LogFiles

    2. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS13.TYLERCI\Reporting Services\LogFiles
