How to forgive interest on a Business License bill

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Property Revenues > Business Licenses > Collection Processing > Forgive Interest

  2. Click Add to add a batch

  3. Click Accept

  4. Click Define

  5. Complete required fields

  6. Click Accept

  7. Click Select

  8. Click Maintain Int to adjust forgiven interest amounts on specific records or to remove a bill

    1. Complete the Maintain Forgiven Interest screen, as necessary

    2. Close the Maintain Forgiven Interest screen

  9. Click Output-Post

  10. Complete the Output dialog box to define the settings

  11. Click OK

    1. The program displays a message confirming that you want to forgive interest for the selected bills

  12. Click Yes to forgive interest on the selected bills

    1. The program displays a confirmation message

  13. Click OK

Additional Information

The Forgive Interest program forgives all or a portion of the interest accumulated on a bill. The portion of interest that is not forgiven is considered held interest.
