Arithmetic overflow error Generating CalSTRS Report





Description of Issue

When generating, the program stops with the following error, and no records are created.

Arithmetic overflow error converting numeric to date type numeric



Context
  • Payroll

  • California

  • CalSTRS Report



Cause

Employee data exceeds character limitations set by the reporting agency. 



Resolution
  1. Identify the employee triggering the error.  Contact Support for assistance with this.

  2. Generate around that employee using available define parameters under Employee Select Criteria (such as Employee Number).

  3. Manually create Period Record(s) for the problem employee using the Update option.
